April 7th (Fri.) to April 8th (Sat.) 2017 Gotenyama Cherry Blossom Festival 2017

At Gotenyama Trust City, we’ll be holding Gotenyama Cherry Blossom Festival 2017 over the course of two days on the 7th and 8th of April.
Gotenyama was a popular, bustling location for cherry blossoms during the Edo period. In the festival, various events will be carried out which focused on that history.

Ryofuuka Sakura Project Miyama Mcqueen-Tokita Ichimujin

◆Sakura Viewing Stage
At the special sakura viewing stage with a large screen, attractive artists both in Japan and overseas, conveying the history and culture of wa-Japanese cultural concept- added with modernity and internationality, present their music and performance along with the image full of traditional atmosphere.

Soushou Kobori Tearoom “Ujian” Falconer Edo Sparkling Firework

○0utdoor Tea Ceremony
In the place of Gotenyama, with the history of Enshu Kobori opened a big tea party by order of Iemitsu Tokugawa in the Edo era, 13th school master Soujitsu Kobori’s second daughter, Soushou Kobori, will welcome everyone with her omotenashi of powdered green tea and Japanese teacake.

○Tearoom “Ujian” open to the public
Tearoom “Ujian” designed by world-famous Arata Isozaki, a leading architect of postmodern architecture, will be open to public during only the event period.

○Falconer Photo Session
Associated with the history of Gotenyama as the Tokugawa Shogun family’s land of falconry in Edo era, photo session with falconer inheriting the SUWA falconry’s mind and technique will be held.

○Edo Sparkling Firework Festival
Enjoy the ephemeral and beautiful life of “Ooedo botan” and “Tokugawa botan”, purely made-in-Japan sparklers.

◆Sakura Viewing Teahouse
At sakura viewing teahouse, besides the cuisine that colors the sakura viewing, you can enjoy “Shinagawa Mekiki Market” (good selection market) linked with the destination campaign “Japa Tabi (Trip)”, which gathered famous brand of sake and specialty products from 5 areas (Nagano, Shiga, Wakayama, Shizuoka, Yamanashi prefectures), also Shinagawa’s specialty products.

“Marriott burger” and “Marriott cream soda” using Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream provided to special booth by Tokyo Marriott Hotel, and kitchen cars line up with variety of menus including pizza, roast beef and mochiko chicken encouraging the sakura viewing mood.

○Famous sake brands and specialty products of Japa Tabi 5 areas
In conjunction with the destination campaign “Japa Tabi” which is one of the local creation projects promoted by the Mori Trust Group, famous sake brands and special products from 5 areas under promotion will be sold. Together with the beautiful scenery of various places shown on the large screen, let it be s help to plan your trip that will remain in your heart.

○Shinagawa Mekiki Market (good selection market)
Dorayaki “Fukukasane” baked one by one on the copperplate and “Shinagawa Karigane Tea” from delicious Japanese tea and handmade confectionery shop “Ippukutou” located in Kita Shinagawa, and chosen products unique to Shinagawa such as original Shinagawa specialty “Akioka” and “Shinagawa maki” will be sold at the market.

Meet the world of Japanese dressmaking where you can do various things using scallops and clothes of kimono with only a needle and threads.

Experiencing workshop of family creation drawing difficult by handwriting. Would you like to garnish T-shirts and handkerchiefs with your favorite crest?
